There is a manifest need to stop tolerating the intolerant, before the intolerant are all that are left.

if it often seems as if atheists are arrogant in our beliefs (such as they are), to the exclusion of humoring theists in theirs, it is because the relationship between atheists and theists is strikingly similar to that between parent and child.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583674511519808833.post-63176272533964309712011-01-05T20:55:38.758+00:002011-01-05T20:55:38.758+00:00I can assure you there is no anger at 'the way...I can assure you there is no anger at 'the way I was treated by the church'.

My anger is at the way it treats it's victims; in the way it has abused the human mind for it's own power and glory, and for the power and glory of the Popes, bishops, clerics, imams and rabbi who assiduously encourage ignorance and superstiton because of fear of what they know learning and reason would do to their power and priviledge.

My anger is the anger a host should rightly feel for its parasites.Rosa Rubicondiorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06063268216781988588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583674511519808833.post-30453904232818643312010-10-29T10:24:43.244+01:002010-10-29T10:24:43.244+01:00I wrote a (not very good) version of "They ca...I wrote a (not very good) version of "They came" last year & oddly enough it was a result of some atheist/religious arguments I read at the time - much the same arguments as they've always been.

Ironically mine was a (kind of) defence though I'm not religious myself; I wonder whether an atheist's attitude to religion is sometimes formed by their previous experiences at a church? Mine were generally positive so I tend to have a live & let live attitude but I know some who are (rightly) angry at the way they were treated.Phil Rusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13040474351783645703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583674511519808833.post-22137512118032450922010-10-13T12:08:09.272+01:002010-10-13T12:08:09.272+01:00Thanks for the inspiration - 200 years after The E...Thanks for the inspiration - 200 years after The Enlightenment! It 'angers' me that so much was 'hidden' from me during my formative years and how bogged down it made me for so many wasted years.Ray of the UKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09940776959768062417noreply@blogger.com
