Look What Christianity Is Used For!

Satan used children against me – Pastor found with 13 girls in sex harem.

Following on from the canonization yesterday of the sadistic Albanian nun and friend of poverty, Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu (aka Mother Teresa) showing how Catholic Church leaders exploit the gullible credulity of their followers for their own nefarious purposes, come two news items from Nigeria showing how the same tendency to abuse power for personal gain is not restricted to the bigger and more organised churches.

It has to be said though that the deceptions in the Nigerian cases were nowhere nearly so elaborate and sophisticated as that demonstrated by 'Honest' Pope Francis and his cabal.

The first story concerns a female pastor who, not content with the income her priestly duties provided, allegedly decided to make a tidy sum on the side by running a brothel in the church, using the young girls who came to her looking for shelter.

54-year-old Idowu Olupinla, a pastor and founder of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ijoko-Ota, has been arrested by the police for allegedly operating a prostitution cartel with teenagers. She is said to have specialised in providing girls aged between 14 and 16 to male customers who paid N500 per session; N200 of which went to the girls while Idowu pocketed N300. Each girl serviced about three clients a day, making about N1,500 a day inclusive of Mrs Olupinla's 'commission'.

About ten girls lived in the brothel with Mrs Olupinla. According to the Premium Times, many of the girls were from broken homes and sought a place to stay before they were lured into prostitution by the woman. One 16 year-old said she lived there for about a year. She said many of the girls had had to have multiple abortions to be able to continue to live in the brothel church and claimed to have had five abortions herself. She said Mrs Olupinla provided the male clients and provided apartments within the church for the girls to entertain their clients in.

Mrs Olupinla denies the allegations claiming she only provided a home for the girls. The Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Ahmed Ilyasu, told a press briefing on Sunday that the victims had been taken to a hospital. He said the suspect would soon be charged with human trafficking and child abuse.

Pastor Chukwuemeka Nwocha,
General Overseer of Tongue of Fire Restoration Ministry
The second news item involves 36-year-old pastor Chukwuemeka Nwocha, the General Overseer of Tongue of Fire Restoration Ministry located in Igbosere, Lagos, Nigeria and a married man. He is known to his congregation as "Daddy" and has been charged with keeping a hareem of thirteen under-aged girls in his three-bedroom apartment.

Pastor Nwocha doesn't deny the charge but blames Satan who sent the girls to tempt him. The thirteen girls all lived in a single room with only one bed and slept as best they could when not sleeping with Nwocha. He initially denied rape but according to the Commissioner of Police for Lagos, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, later confessed to raping the girls without protection; three of the girls were taken to have abortions. The Commissioner claims pastor Nwocha promised the girls' parents that he would feed and cloth the girls, pay their school fees and buy them gifts.

According to the website sitibe.com one 13 year-old girl told their reporter:

There is only one bed in the room. We all sleep anyhow we could. One of us, who is older is the one who cooked in the house. I got there two weeks ago. My parents are his church members. I just felt it will be good if I spent part of the holiday in pastor’s house. My parents gave their permission before I went there.

It was when I got to the house that I saw other girls. Few days after I got there, he called me and took me to his room and slept with me. He told me not to speak to anybody about what he did and that he would buy me clothes. I knew that he was sleeping with the other girls. I don’t know whether anyone of the other girls have had abortion.

According to Nwocha, the children in his church told him they would like to visit him. This was because Satan told them to.

He said:

I only tried to help the girls. When the first girl came, she said she did not have anywhere to go. I did not know her parents. I am a pastor and I felt pity for her. After spending three days, I told her she needed to go out and bring some of her relations so that they would know where she was. But she did not. Later, some parents in my church also said they would like to send their children to live with me. Some of them came to spend holidays after their exam.

But, hey! What's to point of carefully garnering a reputation for being a loving, caring and trustworthy Man of God - all the things that people naively expect a devout Christian pastor to be - if you can't take advantages of the opportunities it puts your way?

    1. In that case, we shouldn't judge it by the good it does either. So on what basis should we judge it?
