Ken Ham Reaches A New Low

Ken Ham
Nepal Suffering After Major Earthquake | Answers in Genesis

Ken Ham is no exception to the routine, run of the mill creationist pseudoscientists in being prepared to lie through his teeth and stoop to any misrepresentation of science to his scientifically illiterate victims for money.

He even boasts openly about teaching the unfortunate children of creationist parents how to disrupt science class at school or talks by scientists, and strike a blow for Jesus, by asking "Were you there?", and so avoid learning anything.

But his latest money-making ploy is a new low even by his low standards. Ham has hit on a way of making money out of the Nepalese earthquake disaster which has killed thousands and left many more homeless and facing the perils of contaminated drinking water, disease and starvation.

After complaining that a New York Times article had said the earthquake was inevitable because:

More than 25 million years ago, India, once a separate island on a quickly sliding piece of the Earth’s crust, crashed into Asia. The two land masses are still colliding, pushed together at a speed of 1.5 to 2 inches a year. The forces have pushed up the highest mountains in the world, in the Himalayas, and have set off devastating earthquakes.

Ham explains that this can't be true because his Bible says otherwise, and goes on to explain why it was the victims' fault instead with:

...we know that this earthquake is one of the tragic consequences of the Fall and the global Flood of Noah’s day.

You see, God’s original creation did not contain earthquakes or any other natural disasters. When God saw all that He had made over Creation Week, He called it “very good” (Genesis 1:31). The original creation was free from any death or suffering. It wasn't until Adam and Eve rebelled against God that death and suffering became a part of our world (Genesis 2:17, 3:1–24). The death and suffering caused by this earthquake is a reminder of sin and the severe consequences that rebellion against our Creator brings.

Luckily, Ken Ham knows how to avoid this happening to us in future because he has found a magic spell in his Bible;

Thankfully, we can have hope looking forward to the new heavens and new earth when "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4).

All we have to do is:

Please be in prayer for Nepal and especially for our brothers and sisters in that country who are reaching out to victims with the love of Christ. Also, as they watch the news, many people will be asking how God could allow such a tragedy. I encourage you to equip yourself with the biblical answer to why there is death and suffering—because of Adam and Eve’s rebellion—so that you can answer their questions and point them toward the hope that we can have even in the midst of tragedy because of the sacrifice of Jesus and the salvation that He offers.

and of course:

Support the creation gospel message by donating or getting involved!

Remember now, if you don't want to end up like those sinful Nepalese, don't bother with contributing any money to the relief effort because God wants them to suffer to teach them a lesson because he loves them. Send it to Ken Ham instead so he can tell the victims of natural disasters that it's all their fault for not listening to him. In fact, send Ken Ham as much as you can.

One passage Ken Ham seems to have overlooked in his book of all truths is:

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:9-10

But what's the use of a Bible passage which tells you not to make money any way you can? That's not what the Big Book of Excuses is for!

So much for creationist hypocrites.

If you're a decent, caring, compassionate human being who wants to do something more than making Ken Ham even richer and showing off your piety to your friends, you can do something useful by contributing money to one of the relief agencies who are actually trying to help people in real need. Just type 'Nepalese Earthquake' into your preferred search engine and click on one of the appeals for donations.

There are real human beings who need your help.

Thanks to Barry Desborough on Facebook for pointing me to this example of parasitic creationist greed.
