Religious Greed News - Mega-Church Theft Was Definitely NOT an Insurance Scam, Honest Gov!

Multimillionaire Pastor Joel Osteen, Lakewood Mega-Church, Houston, Texas.
Definitely not an insurance scam as that would be the sin of theft!
Plumber who found money stashed in wall at Joel Osteen’s church gets $20,000 reward

Here's a heart-warming story involving mega rich televangelist Joel Osteen and his Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.

The plumber, one Justin Cauley, who found $600,000 in cash and cheques hidden behind a panel in the church's toilet, is to receive a $20,000 reward for recovering the money, which was believed to have been stolen from a safe in the church in 2014 - a crime which remains unsolved.

I hope it's not somebody currently working in a church environment that's hiding $600,000 from the people who donated it.

According to this report, and from statements by a church spokesperson, reported at the time, all donations made to the megachurch are fully insured, so no money was lost as a result of the theft. Although the dates and names on the checks strongly point to the recovered money being the same as the 'stolen' money, police have not yet been able to verify that it is indeed the 'stolen' money.

Investigation into the 2014 theft and any connection Justin the Plumber's find might have to it are still progressing but one thing we can be sure of is that this was definitely not an insurance scam because that would be theft and, as a follower of Jesus, Joel Osteen knows that theft is forbidden by the 8th of the 10 Commandments.

As yet, there is no news that the money the church received from its insurers is to be returned, unlike the $4.4 million Osteen's church was paid from the COVID-19 Paycheck Protection Program for closing to personal services for several months. Following a public shaming for taking US tax-payers money intended to help small businesses, multimillionaire Osteen and his super-rich mega church have agreed to return the money to the taxpayers.

Osteen, a devout follower of Jesus who told his followers to sell their possessions and give the money to the poor, lives humbly in a $15 million, 6-bedroom mansion in the wealthy River Oaks suburb of Houston, Texas and also owns a home in Tanglewood, Houston, worth a mere $3 million. He drives a modest Ferrari. In 2016 his net worth was estimated to be $40 million, 0.05% of which he has just given to the poor plumber who found his church's 'stolen' money.

Thank you for sharing!
