As a special New Year gift to worshippers of Creationism's supernatural sadist, the creator of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, I bring them news of its brilliance in creating a virus that, even if you survive the initial attempt to kill you, can ensure you suffer long-term for your effrontery.
As this Guardian article by Professor Resia (Etheresia) Pretorius, of the Department of Physiological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, South Africa showed, COVID-19 has a nasty little sting in its tail with which it hits back if it doesn't kill you. Professor Resia Pretorius is co-lead author of a paper from last August, which highlighted the high incidence of micro blood clots in patients who had survived COVID-19 and were now suffering from 'Long Covid'.
This is a degree of sadistic mendacity in design of which followers of Creationism's malevolent designer should be proud.
In the article, Professor Pretorius points out that there are now around 100 million people worldwide who suffer with Long Covid. These patients:

…complain of numerous symptoms, the main ones being recurring fatigue and brain fog, muscle weakness, being out of breath and having low oxygen levels, sleep difficulties and anxiety or depression. Some patients are so sick that they cannot work or even walk a few steps. There is possibly also an elevated risk of stroke and heart attacks. One of the biggest sources of concern is that even mild and sometimes asymptomatic initial Covid-19 infection may lead to debilitating, long-term disability.She also points out that:
Since early 2020, we and other researchers have pointed out that acute Covid-19 is not only a lung disease, but actually significantly affects the vascular (blood flow) and coagulation (blood clotting) systems.In the open access paper she co-authored with colleagues, published in Bioscience Reports, Professor Pretorius explains how they found that the spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus inhibits finbrinolysis, so leaving micro blood clots to circulate and block the small capillaries in various body organs, including the brain, possibly causing the symptoms associated with Long Covid.
A recent study in my lab revealed that there is significant microclot formation in the blood of both acute Covid-19 and long Covid patients. With healthy physiology, clots may form (for instance, when you cut yourself). However, the body breaks down the clots efficiently by a process called fibrinolysis.

The presence of persistent microclots and hyperactivated platelets (also involved in clotting) perpetuates coagulation and vascular pathology, resulting in cells not getting enough oxygen in the tissues to sustain bodily functions (known as cellular hypoxia). Widespread hypoxia may be central to the numerous reported debilitating symptoms.
No doubt Creationist devotees of the putative divine malevolence will be pointing out how only something with a detailed knowledge of how the body's blood clotting system (which they often cite as an example of an 'irreducibly complex’ system) works could design a virus with spike proteins that inhibit the process of fibrinolysis.

Or at least they would have to be if they were honest enough to explain how their childish superstition is a better explanation than that offered by science because the notion of intentional design implies detailed knowledge of whatever the design is for (or in this case, against) and the idea of it being the result of a mindless natural process operating without a plan is rejected by dogma, by Creationists.
But here is how Professor Pretorius and her colleagues explain it in their open access paper:

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2)-induced infection, the cause of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is characterized by unprecedented clinical pathologies. One of the most important pathologies, is hypercoagulation and microclots in the lungs of patients. Here we study the effect of isolated SARS-CoV-2 spike protein S1 subunit as potential inflammagen sui generis. Using scanning electron and fluorescence microscopy as well as mass spectrometry, we investigate the potential of this inflammagen to interact with platelets and fibrin(ogen) directly to cause blood hypercoagulation. Using platelet-poor plasma (PPP), we show that spike protein may interfere with blood flow. Mass spectrometry also showed that when spike protein S1 is added to healthy PPP, it results in structural changes to β and γ fibrin(ogen), complement 3, and prothrombin. These proteins were substantially resistant to trypsinization, in the presence of spike protein S1. Here we suggest that, in part, the presence of spike protein in circulation may contribute to the hypercoagulation in COVID-19 positive patients and may cause substantial impairment of fibrinolysis. Such lytic impairment may result in the persistent large microclots we have noted here and previously in plasma samples of COVID-19 patients. This observation may have important clinical relevance in the treatment of hypercoagulability in COVID-19 patients.

Conclusion
Scanning electron- and fluorescence microscopy revealed large, dense anomalous and amyloid masses in WB and PPP of healthy individuals where spike protein was added to the samples. Mass spectrometry confirmed that when spike protein was added to PPP, it interacts with plasma proteins, resulting in fibrin(ogen), prothrombin and other proteins linked to coagulation, to become substantially resistant to trypsinization, resulting in less fragments. Flow analysis confirmed that microclots may impair blood flow. Here we suggest that, in part, the presence of spike protein S1 in circulation may contribute to the hypercoagulation in COVID-19 positive patients and may cause severe impairment of fibrinolysis…
