Covidiot News - No Time to Gloat, But We DID Say This Would Happen

It's difficult to feel sorry for people like antivaxxer, evangelical Christian radio host and covidiot, Dr Jimmy DeYoung Sr, who devoted his last year of life to spreading disinformation to discourage his followers from getting the anti-COVID vaccine and who has now died of COVID-19, and Catholic Cardinal Raymond L. Burke, the homophobic right-winger who downplayed the coronavirus and similarly rubbished and lied about the vaccine, who is now fighting for his life on a ventilator, suffering from... you've guessed it!.. COVID-19.


But these are still human beings, so deserve at least a little of our sympathy, whether they mislead people and themselves through genuine ignorance and the misplaced arrogance to imagine they knew better than the experts, or were deliberately lying to keep the money flowing in from their followers who were paying to hear what they wanted to hear.

Whether liar, fraud or arrogant fool, clearly something went wrong in their lives to prevent them developing into honest, moral human beings with genuine concern for the welfare of others. They were the products of their culture and the society in which they grew up, and victims of the religion that was foisted on them at birth, without their consent.

At least that would be the kind response of the compassionate, caring liberals they so despise(d).

Jimmy DeYoung died in Memorial Hospital last Sunday, where he had gone to seek the help of medical science when prayer was failing to make any difference. His wife, Judy, also caught the virus but is recovering.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Burke remains on a ventilator in the hospital where he went to get the assistance of medical science when prayer failed him too.

In 2014, the viciously homophobic Burke was effectively demoted by Pope Francis from a senior position in the Vatican from his position as the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura (the Vatican equivalent of head of the Supreme Court) to a nominal post as patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, when he clashed with Pope Francis over the legality of changing the church's position on the 'sin' of homosexuality.


Only last May, according to this report in LifeSiteNews he was spreading the false rumour that the vaccine were made from the cells of aborted fetuses and contained a microchip that could be used by the state to control people.
Burke declared that it is “never morally justified to develop a vaccine through the use of cell lines of aborted fetuses” and that the thought of it being injected into one’s body is “rightly abhorrent.” He noted also that vaccination may not be imposed “in a totalitarian manner” on citizens.” He also decried proposals for placing microchips under people’s skin that would allow them to be “controlled by the State regarding health and about other matters.”

A state mandating vaccinations or even microchips “violates the integrity of its citizens,” Burke pointed out. “While the State can provide reasonable regulations for the safeguarding of health, it is not the ultimate provider of health. God is. Whatever the State proposes must respect God and His Law.”
Sadly his god seems to have failed to provide the level of healthcare that the state he lived in had on offer so he's now had to abandon that plan and go into an intensive health care facility where medical staff are doing what his god has singularly failed to do.

At the same meeting in Rome, he also continued to spread the false rumour that the vaccines are made from the cells of aborted foetuses and declared that it is therefore immoral to have them injected into your body. Several vaccine manufacturers have denied repeatedly that the cells of aborted foetuses were used in the vaccines' development or production, but Burke was never one to let truth intrude on a good, sanctimonious condemnation of his fellow humans to pain and misery.

If he survives, one wonders if he will have had a Damascene conversion to the benefits of vaccines and medical science in general on the realisation that his god appears not to be up to the task. But in all probability, he will attribute his recovery, not to medical science and the skills of the hospital staff who cared for him, but to the same god who again failed to report for duty when called upon for assistance.
